Tamaulipas updates water availability semaphore

The Tamaulipas Secretariat of Hydraulic Resources for Social Development has updated the Water Care Semaphore to reflect current availability across the state. During the 28th Ordinary Meeting of the Monitoring and Evaluation Committee, officials reviewed the hydraulic balance of the state's basins.

Due to low storage levels in the La Amistad and Falcón international dams, ten municipalities in the northern border region remain in the red zone. These include Camargo, Guerrero, Gustavo Díaz Ordaz, Matamoros, Mier, Miguel Alemán, Nuevo Laredo, Reynosa, Río Bravo, and Valle Hermoso. Additionally, Ciudad Victoria and Tula remain in the red category.

Fifteen municipalities were assigned green status, including Abasolo, Altamira, Ciudad Madero, and Tampico. Sixteen municipalities were placed in the yellow category, such as San Fernando and San Nicolás. The meeting included state, municipal, and federal authorities, as well as representatives from the agricultural sector, to address ongoing hydraulic challenges.
