Tamaulipas updates Water Care Semaphore for 43 municipalities

The Secretary of Hydraulic Resources for Social Development, Raúl Quiroga Álvarez, has updated the Water Care Semaphore for the 43 municipalities of Tamaulipas. The update follows the 27th Ordinary Session of the Evaluation and Monitoring Committee.

Ten municipalities along the northern border, including Nuevo Laredo, Reynosa, and Matamoros, remain in the red zone due to low water levels in international dams. Additionally, Ciudad Victoria and Tula are also categorized in the red zone based on their current supply sources.

In contrast, the Guayalejo-Tamesí basin shows favorable conditions, with municipalities such as Tampico, Ciudad Madero, and Altamira remaining in the green zone. Other regions, including the Soto la Marina and San Fernando basins, are currently in the yellow zone. In Bustamante, officials are conducting tests on the El Caracol well to facilitate reservoir filling.
