Tamaulipas youths escape organized crime recruitment center

Two young residents of Reynosa successfully escaped an organized crime recruitment center located in Linares, Nuevo León. The individuals had responded to social media advertisements offering attractive salaries for jobs that did not require professional studies. After being asked for documentation via WhatsApp and Facebook, they arrived at a ranch that served as a recruitment site for criminal groups.

The two individuals spent approximately two days walking through the wilderness to reach Burgos, Tamaulipas, where they eventually sought assistance. They were assisted by the civil association ‘Amor por los Desaparecidos’ and the Tamaulipas State Commission for the Search of Persons. Authorities have urged the public, particularly young people, to verify that employment offers come from legitimate companies.
