Tamil film “DC” starring Lokesh Kanagaraj postponed to August 7

The Tamil gangster drama “DC”, directed by Arun Matheswaran and marking Lokesh Kanagaraj’s acting debut, was originally scheduled for worldwide theatrical release on July 31. After the release of Vijay’s film “Jana Nayagan” on July 23 created a clash, the producers postponed “DC” and announced a new release date of August 7.

The film, produced by Sun Pictures and featuring actress Wamija Gabbi, has been certified with an A rating by the Central Board of Film Certification. The postponement was communicated through an Instagram poster, and social‑media users noted the scheduling conflict and the adult‑content rating.

The updated release plan aims to avoid competition with the high‑profile “Jana Nayagan”, giving “DC” a clearer window in theaters worldwide.
