Tamil Idol announces judges and Chennai audition dates

The first season of Tamil Idol, a regional expansion of the Indian Idol franchise, has announced its judging panel and audition details. The judging trio consists of playback singer Karthik, Benny Dayal, and actress-singer Andrea Jeremiah. A. R. Rahman will serve as the Super Judge for the competition.

On-ground auditions are scheduled to begin in Chennai on August 23 at Velammal Vidyalaya Annexure in Mel Ayanambakkam. The competition is open to aspiring singers between the ages of 14 and 30. Vikkals Vikram and Pooja Venkat will serve as the hosts for the season, interacting with contestants as the search for talent moves across Tamil Nadu.
