Tamil Nadu announces medals for 180 uniformed personnel

The Tamil Nadu government has announced the Chief Minister's Anna medals for 180 uniformed service personnel in honor of former Chief Minister C N Annadurai's birthday. The recipients include 138 police officers ranging from Head Constable to Superintendent of Police, as well as personnel from the Fire and Rescue Services, Prison Department, Home Guards, Fingerprint Bureau, and Forensic Sciences Department.

Additionally, fireman driver R Rajasekar from Nagercoil will be awarded the Chief Minister's Fire Service Medal for Gallantry for rescuing a girl from strong currents at Lemuria Beach.

Separately, the DMK has postponed its annual ‘Muperum Vizha’ celebrations due to the illness of party president and former Chief Minister M K Stalin. Stalin, who was also absent from C N Annadurai's birth anniversary commemorations, is reportedly suffering from a fever. The postponed event is intended to commemorate the birth anniversaries of Annadurai and Periyar E V Ramasamy, as well as the founding of the DMK.
