Tamil Nadu to establish semiconductor, fintech, and logistics hubs

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay has announced three major industrial projects aimed at boosting the state’s technology and logistics sectors.

A semiconductor and electronics manufacturing park will be established in Maduranthagam, Kancheepuram district, at an estimated cost of Rs 175 crore. Managed by the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT), the park is expected to attract approximately Rs 2,000 crore in investment and create nearly 5,000 direct and indirect jobs. The facility will include research and development infrastructure to support the semiconductor industry.

Additionally, the government plans to develop a Coimbatore FinTech Hub at an estimated cost of Rs 400 crore through public-private participation. This hub will provide office spaces for start-ups, laboratories, and skill development facilities to promote digital financial services.

Furthermore, a multi-modal logistics hub is planned for Tiruchirappalli, to be developed by the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO). This project aims to strengthen the state’s logistics infrastructure and support the region's micro, small, and medium enterprises.
