Moderate rain expected across Tamil Nadu from July 7‑12

The Chennai weather centre issued a forecast indicating moderate rain in Tamil Nadu between July 7 and July 12. Showers are likely in the western Ghats districts on July 7‑8, with lighter rain possible in other parts of the state, including Puducherry and Karaikal. From July 9‑12, the western Ghats may see light to moderate rain, while scattered light rain is expected elsewhere. Temperatures are projected to reach a maximum of 100 °F and a minimum of 84 °F. Strong winds of 40‑50 km/h, gusting up to 60 km/h, are advised against for fishermen in the central and southern Bay of Bengal.

Rainfall measurements over the preceding 24 hours showed up to 3 cm in Nilgiris district (Kudalur market) and 2 cm in several other locations.
