Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay Drives Surge in Jana Nayagan OTT Value
Actor Vijay’s victory in the Tamil Nadu assembly polls and his swearing‑in as chief minister have revived interest in his delayed film Jana Nayagan. The social drama, directed by H. Vinoth and produced by KVN Productions, had faced censor hurdles, missed its Sankranti release and lost an Amazon Prime digital deal. With the certification process now nearing completion, the film is back in trade talks.
Industry reports say the OTT market is aggressively courting Jana Nayagan, with offers reportedly exceeding the Rs 50 crore digital‑rights fee earlier floated by Zee Studios. Trade observers note that the film’s title card may be changed from “Thalapathy Vijay” to “CM of Tamil Nadu Vijay,” further boosting its political and commercial appeal. Several streaming platforms are expected to bid for the rights, aiming to attract Vijay’s fan base worldwide, while the theatrical release date remains pending.
