Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay's final film Jana Nayagan set for July 23 worldwide release
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, popularly known as Thalapathy Vijay, has confirmed that his much‑anticipated final film, Jana Nayagan, will hit theatres worldwide on 23 July 2026. The announcement was made via Vijay’s Instagram post, which also unveiled a new poster showing him in a police uniform holding a sword and bearing the caption “#JanaNayaganFromJuly23”. The film is promoted as “The Honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu C Joseph Vijay”.
Produced by KVN Productions and directed by H. Vinoth, the action drama stars Vijay alongside Pooja Hegde, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Prakash Raj, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani and Narain, with music by Anirudh Ravichander. After delays caused by a prolonged certification dispute with the Central Board of Film Certification, piracy leaks and a legal battle, the film finally secured an ‘A’ certificate and a confirmed release schedule – domestic theatres on 23 July and overseas markets on 24 July. Producer Venkat K. Narayana called the release “a historic moment” and said it will serve as a memorable farewell to Vijay’s cinematic career. Fans across India and abroad have responded with heightened excitement and large‑scale advance bookings.
