Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay said he had proposed talks with Karnataka’s chief minister on the Cauvery water‑sharing dispute and is prepared to face any humiliation to seek a positive outcome. The Assembly unanimously passed a resolution urging the Union government to increase the share of tax devolution to states to 50 percent, citing the state’s fiscal strain. In parallel, the government announced a programme to add 22,500 milch cows to the Aavin dairy network to raise daily milk procurement by at least 150,000 litres.
Vijay wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging fast‑track implementation of the Godavari‑Cauvery‑Gundar river‑link project and also requested that veterinary admissions be based on class‑12 marks rather than a common entrance test.
