Tamil Nadu CM Joseph Vijay expected to reshuffle cabinet

A cabinet reshuffle is expected in the Tamil Nadu government following the conclusion of the recent Assembly session. Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay is reportedly considering changes to the 35-member Council of Ministers due to unsatisfactory performance by certain members.

An assessment conducted by advisors John Arokiaswamy and Vishnu Reddy reviewed ministerial performance regarding departmental management, official meetings, constituency implementation, and participation in Assembly proceedings. Reports suggest that up to three ministers from the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam party may be removed, and a minister from a coalition partner may see a change in their department. Additionally, one minister has requested relief from a major department due to workload.

In a separate political development, DMK President and former Chief Minister MK Stalin issued a video message responding to comments made by CM Vijay during the Assembly session. Stalin addressed historical grievances regarding the dismissal of the DMK government in 1976 and his subsequent imprisonment, stating that while the facts presented by the CM are true, the history of political struggle and repression faced by the party cannot be changed.
