Tamil Nadu CM Vijay begins seven-day UK visit to attract investment
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay has commenced a seven-day official visit to the United Kingdom, traveling from September 10 to September 17, to attract industrial investments to the state. This marks his first foreign trip since assuming office.
The delegation includes Sports Minister Adhav Arjuna, Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority Meghanath Reddy, and other government officials. A key highlight of the trip involves the Chief Minister officially flagging off the ‘Michelin Le Mans Cup’ car racing event in the UK.
The visit aims to strengthen existing ties with British companies operating in engineering, financial services, and technology. The state government is specifically targeting new investments in advanced manufacturing, automotive sectors, electric vehicles, electronics, and Global Capability Centres (GCCs).
Additionally, the trip supports the government's initiative to establish a ‘Motor Sports City’ in Tamil Nadu, leveraging the state's existing automotive and electric vehicle manufacturing ecosystem.
