M.K. Stalin predicts Tamil Nadu's TVK government could collapse within three months

DMK president and former chief minister M.K. Stalin said on June 7 that the TVK administration in Tamil Nadu, led by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, may not survive beyond three months. He made the comments while welcoming former VCK MLA Panaiyur M. Babu and his supporters into the DMK, noting that he had previously pledged not to criticize the new government for six months but public doubt is now growing.

Stalin warned that many people are questioning the stability of the TVK government, citing complaints about power cuts, water supply issues and deteriorating law‑and‑order conditions. Babu, who quit the VCK after the 2026 assembly polls, praised Stalin’s welfare projects in Cheyyur and described the DMK as his “mother party.” Stalin urged the newly inducted cadres to cooperate with the party and refrain from attacking their former affiliations.
