Tamil Nadu DMK chief MK Stalin thanks allies after 2026 election loss

Former Tamil Nadu chief minister and DMK president MK Stalin expressed gratitude to the partners of the Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA) after the coalition failed to win the 2026 state assembly elections. He said the alliance would continue its ideological and political journey despite the defeat, reaffirming its commitment to protecting Tamil Nadu’s rights and welfare.

Stalin highlighted that the coalition secured more than 54 crore votes and won 72 assembly seats, indicating strong public support. He thanked leaders from various allied parties and noted that several new parties had joined the alliance during the campaign, strengthening a broad secular and democratic platform. He pledged that the SPA will remain united and continue working for the people of Tamil Nadu.
