Tamil Nadu government orders fixes for e‑Seva centres and hospitals
The Tamil Nadu state government directed all district collectors to ensure hassle‑free operation of the 33,000 e‑Seva centres that provide a wide range of citizen services. Officials said persistent technical glitches, server outages, poor cable infrastructure and weak internet connectivity continue to disrupt digital transactions, prompting calls for a comprehensive technology upgrade.
In a separate move, the health department appointed 304 nodal officers to address deficiencies identified by the Chief Minister’s Office across government hospitals in 31 districts. The mandate covers sanitation, drinking water, toilet facilities, patient amenities, building upkeep, security, equipment shortages, staff shortages and reported bribery and extortion practices affecting patients and their families.
