Nayanthara film Mookuthi Amman 2 set for release with early shows

The Tamil film Mookuthi Amman 2, starring Nayanthara and directed by Sundar C, is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 6, 2026. The film has received U/A certification and is being promoted as a divine cinematic spectacle.

In Tamil Nadu, authorities have granted special permission for theaters to conduct up to six screenings per day, including early-morning shows starting at 6:00 AM. Advance bookings for the film have already opened in Kerala.

While the film is not a direct sequel to the 2020 original, it builds on the same divine premise with new characters and storylines. The production is handled by Dr. Ishari K. Ganesh under the Vels Film International banner. Some industry speculation suggests the film may feature a cinematic universe including cameos from veteran actresses, though audience skepticism regarding promotional hype remains.
