Tamil Nadu Housing Board launches portal for new housing projects
The Tamil Nadu Housing Board (TNHB) has launched a digital portal to assess public interest in proposed housing projects under its self-financing scheme. The initiative allows residents to register their willingness to purchase homes at eight specific locations to help the board gauge demand during the planning stage.
Four of the proposed sites are located in Chennai: Anna Nagar, Purasaivakkam, Nandanam, and Ernavur. Additional locations include Gundurmalai in Cuddalore district, Ellis Nagar in Madurai, Thirumazhisai in Tiruvallur district, and Vallankumaravilai in Kanniyakumari district.
Prospective buyers can use the portal to specify their preferred location, housing type, and specific requirements. The TNHB clarified that this registration is strictly for demand assessment and does not constitute a formal application or guarantee priority in future allotments. Interested individuals must still complete the official application process once the projects proceed.
