Tamil Nadu Leaders Vaiko and CR Sundararajan Rally Against State Government

At a ceremony in Chennai honoring the Abdul Kalam National Award, DMK leader Vaiko denounced the Tamil Nadu administration, claiming the expected commission had not arrived and accusing officials of halting development projects such as sand extraction. He warned that the current government would not survive the upcoming elections and urged the return of his party to power.

Former Congress figure C. R. Sundararajan, now aligned with the Tavega coalition, announced a large‑scale rally intended to bring together 10,000 participants near Madakupatti. A costly stage worth several crore rupees was erected for the event scheduled on 19 July, but the rally was cancelled amid disputes with Minister Ananth and internal party tensions. Sundararajan expressed frustration over the postponement and the lack of clear support from coalition partners.
