Tamil Nadu Minister defends CM Vijay's administration and avoids PM speculation

Tamil Nadu Revenue Minister K. A. Sengottaiyan has defended Chief Minister Vijay’s administration, stating that the government is taking stringent measures to maintain law and order and control drug circulation. Speaking at the airport, Sengottaiyan emphasized that the Chief Minister is focused on implementing schemes based on public needs to ensure the state's progress.

Addressing political speculation, Sengottaiyan declined to comment on demands from within the Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) to project Vijay as a prime ministerial candidate. When questioned about the proposal and opposition from the Congress party, the minister asked reporters not to ‘get me into trouble’ and stated that Vijay’s current objective is to lead Tamil Nadu toward development across all sectors.

On administrative matters, the minister addressed the debate regarding a new Secretariat building and land regulations. He noted that, per Supreme Court directives, land pattas cannot be issued for watercourse or temple lands, and legal action must be taken against those occupying such areas. He also responded to criticisms from AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, dismissing remarks regarding the longevity of the TVK government.
