Tamil Nadu Minister S Ramesh criticizes former minister over temple administration

Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Minister S Ramesh has criticized former minister P K Sekar Babu regarding comments on temple administration. Ramesh questioned Sekar Babu’s understanding of the distinction between regular VIP darshan and official inspections of temple works, specifically citing inspections at the Meenakshi Amman Temple.

Addressing controversies at the Srirangam temple, Ramesh noted that police have begun investigating allegations of land grabbing involving a DMK functionary. He questioned the decision of the official to seek anticipatory bail, suggesting that if the allegations were false, the individual should face the inquiry without fear.

The Minister also stated that the HR&CE Department would act on complaints regarding fraudulent advertisements claiming temple lands are for sale and addressed reports of irregularities concerning tax collection and Srirangam temple properties.
