Tamil Nadu ministers to visit Kerala for Anamalayar-Nallaru project talks
A delegation of Tamil Nadu ministers is scheduled to visit Kerala on Monday, October 5, to continue negotiations regarding the Anamalayar-Nallaru project. The project is a long-standing demand from farmers in the Coimbatore, Tiruppur, and Erode districts of western Tamil Nadu, who are seeking improved irrigation facilities.
The Tamil Nadu delegation includes Water Resources Minister Anand, Revenue Minister Sengottaiyan, Public Welfare Minister Arunraj, and Tourism Minister Rajesh Kumar. The ministers are expected to meet with Kerala Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan and the state’s Irrigation Minister to discuss the implementation of the proposed project.
While the visit aims to advance discussions between the two states, specific details regarding the meeting venue, the formal agenda, or the expectation of a signed agreement have not been disclosed. The discussions will focus on the implementation of the irrigation initiative, which has remained a pending issue for several years.
