Tamil Nadu MLAs begin two-day leadership training in Mahabalipuram
A two-day Legislators’ Leadership Programme (LLP) has commenced in Mahabalipuram for an initial batch of 30 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) from Tamil Nadu. Launched at the initiative of Assembly Speaker JCD Prabhakar and following instructions from Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay, the program is designed to strengthen leadership capabilities and enhance the effectiveness of elected representatives in public service.
The training focuses on several key areas, including people-centric governance, legislative responsibilities, constituency development, and strategies for resolving public grievances. Participants are being trained to coordinate more effectively with government departments, utilize needs-based planning, and ensure accountable service delivery.
During the inaugural session, Rural Development and Water Resources Minister N Anand emphasized that leadership is a responsibility centered on public welfare rather than mere authority. He urged legislators to prioritize constituency development and suggested the integration of artificial intelligence and digital governance to improve administrative efficiency and public service quality.
