Tamil Nadu police arrest suspects in crimes against elderly women

Police in Tamil Nadu have arrested suspects in two separate incidents involving elderly women.

In Erode, a 31-year-old man named Vicky was arrested for the sexual assault of an 85-year-old woman at her farmhouse near Anthiyur. The victim, who lived alone, was found unconscious by neighbors on Sunday morning. Authorities used CCTV footage to identify the suspect, who had been working in the area for sugarcane harvesting. The victim was hospitalized for treatment.

In Chennai, an 80-year-old widow named Radha was found murdered in her T Nagar apartment. Police arrested her 31-year-old domestic help, Ammu, and detained two other men suspected of conspiracy. Investigators believe the suspects killed the woman to steal gold jewelry and other valuables. While some jewelry was recovered, efforts to locate remaining items continue.
