Tamil Nadu police seize drugs and arrest over 1,000 offenders in statewide crackdown

The Tamil Nadu police conducted a large‑scale enforcement drive across the state, arresting more than 1,000 individuals classified as "history sheet" rowdies, bad characters and other offenders. The operation also saw the execution of nearly 3,000 non‑bailable warrants as part of the week‑long effort.

In Chennai, police apprehended a mother, her son and a younger accomplice after discovering about 2,400 painkiller tablets that had been sourced from Mumbai. The three were produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody while police continue to search for the escaped fourth suspect.
