Tamil Nadu politician demands justice after fatal home invasion in Sathankulam
PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss has called on the Tamil Nadu government and police to ensure public safety following a violent home invasion in Mutur, near Sathankulam in the Thoothukuppadi district.
During the midnight attack, a group armed with weapons entered a residence and attacked sleeping occupants. A woman named Mary Regila was killed, while her husband, Muthukrishnan, and son, Placet Raja, sustained severe injuries and are receiving hospital treatment. Two daughters were briefly abducted during the incident but were rescued shortly after.
The attack is reportedly linked to a prior grudge between the victim's family and an individual named Gnana Prakasam. Ramadoss criticized the local police for failing to monitor the known dispute and for their inability to apprehend the perpetrators immediately following the crime. He emphasized that such incidents create widespread fear and that the state must fulfill its duty to protect its citizens.
