Tamil Nadu reports two separate murder incidents

Two separate murder incidents have been reported in Tamil Nadu. In Chennai, a 37-year-old man identified as A Sathish was beaten to death in Nerkundram by a group of five individuals. Police report the killing stemmed from a dispute regarding a demand for Rs 6 lakh to settle a 2022 assault case in which Sathish was a witness. Three suspects were arrested after one of the participants contacted the police to report the crime, while authorities continue to search for two others.

In the Ramanathapuram district, a 56-year-old former panchayat president named Arthur was allegedly hacked to death near a TASMAC outlet in Sikkal village. Local police indicate the attack is linked to a long-standing land dispute. Following the incident, relatives of the deceased attempted to blockade the Rameswaram-Kanyakumari East Coast Road to demand arrests, but were prevented from doing so by police intervention.
