Tamil Nadu teachers selected for National Teachers’ Award

Two educators from Tamil Nadu, M Thangaraj and J Amudha, have been selected to receive the National Teachers’ Award from the President of India.

M Thangaraj, a teacher at the Puliyampatti Panchayat Union Primary School in the Tenkasi district, was recognized for his commitment to improving school infrastructure and using activity-based teaching methods. He noted that he has personally funded school improvements and utilizes tools such as storytelling, games, and audiovisual resources to support students, particularly those from socially and economically disadvantaged communities.

J Amudha, the Headmistress of Kendriya Vidyalaya (No 2) in Madurai, was also named an awardee. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay congratulated both teachers, stating that their selection is a matter of pride for the state and reflects their dedication to innovative teaching and student welfare.
