Tamil Nadu to establish seven new nursing colleges

Tamil Nadu Health Minister Arunraj announced the establishment of seven new nursing colleges across the state to address medical staffing needs. Six of these institutions will be located in Tirunelveli, Trichy, Dharmapuri, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, and Namakkal, each offering 100 B.Sc. Nursing seats.

A seventh college will be established at the ESI Medical College Hospital in Coimbatore with 60 B.Sc. Nursing seats, funded by the state government. The Minister stated that the government's objective is to ensure no medical vacancies remain in government hospitals and that completed hospital construction projects will soon be opened to the public.

Additionally, the Minister addressed local infrastructure requests, promising two freezer boxes for the Panruti Government Hospital and stating that upgrades for the Valliyur and Panruti facilities would be reviewed based on necessity.
