Tamil Nadu to introduce AI-integrated ARIVU curriculum

Tamil Nadu School Education Minister Rajmohan has announced the introduction of the ‘ARIVU’ curriculum, focusing on analytical thinking, reasoning, innovation, venture, entrepreneurship, and upskilling. Scheduled for the 2027-28 academic year, the framework includes ARIVU Foundation for Classes I-V, ARIVU Discovery for Classes VI-VIII, and ARIVU Edge for Classes IX-XII. The initiative integrates artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to prepare students for future demands.

Key educational reforms include the pilot of ‘TN PAL’, an AI-powered adaptive learning programme for 500 government middle schools, and the ‘Mathichudar Scheme’ to improve mathematical conceptual understanding. To support student well-being and talent, the ‘PLAY’ initiative will provide a daily period for sports and arts, while 50 schools will be developed as ‘Sports Plus’ institutions. Additionally, the government will provide sports jerseys to over 23 lakh students.

In higher education, Minister P. Viswanathan announced that monthly remuneration for guest lecturers in various colleges will increase from Rs 30,000 to Rs 35,000, alongside the planned appointment of 6,000 assistant professors in three phases.
