Tamil Nadu U23 defeats Rest of India U23 to win championship

Tamil Nadu U23 defeated Rest of India U23 by six wickets at the MA Chidambaram stadium to claim the championship. Chasing a target of 149 in 46 overs, Tamil Nadu reached the goal behind a 72-run opening partnership between KTA Madhava Prasad (42) and SR Athish (29).

Rest of India had attempted to force a result through a massive second-innings performance, highlighted by Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s double century (203) and a 249-run partnership with Digvijay Patil (106). Rest of India declared at 431/7, but Tamil Nadu’s bowlers, specifically Sachin Rathi with a six-wicket haul in the first innings and P Vignesh with a five-wicket haul in the second, kept the team in contention.

Tamil Nadu skipper Andre Siddarth noted that the team focused on playing ‘normal cricket’ to avoid losing quick wickets in a match that could have gone either way.
