Tamil Nadu CM Vijay campaigns in Dharapuram for TVK candidate

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president C. Joseph Vijay is intensifying campaign efforts for upcoming assembly by-polls. On Wednesday, Vijay is scheduled to hold a major public meeting in Dharapuram to support TVK candidate P. Sathyabama. Due to safety and capacity concerns, organizers are limiting attendance to approximately 5,000 individuals holding QR-coded entry passes.

In a separate legal development, the TVK has petitioned the Madras High Court to lift an interim restriction preventing the Election Commission from announcing by-elections in five constituencies: Tiruchi East, Perundurai, Ambasamudram, Viralimalai, and Karur. The party argues that the current legal hold, based on pending election petitions, should not obstruct the democratic process.

Additionally, the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) is preparing to relocate from Fort St George to the Namakkal Kavignar Maaligai (NKM) within the Secretariat complex. The move, expected during the Pongal festival, aims to address space constraints and improve administrative infrastructure. Meanwhile, in Madurai, Vijay recently inaugurated the ‘Thayi Maaman Gold Ring Scheme’ for newborns at a government hospital and reopened the renovated Gandhi Museum.
