Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam joins INDIA alliance
Thalapathy Vijay’s political party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), has officially joined the INDIA alliance. The decision was formalized during an opposition meeting held in Chennai on Saturday, where top leadership from TVK attended.
As part of the alliance, TVK will participate in upcoming protests demanding the removal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The opposition has raised concerns regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists, alleging that legitimate voters might be excluded. While TVK representatives will participate in scheduled demonstrations on October 6 and subsequent district-level movements in Tamil Nadu, it remains unclear if Vijay himself will personally attend these specific events.
The inclusion of TVK is viewed as a strategic move to strengthen the opposition in Tamil Nadu, particularly as other parties like the Aam Aadmi Party and DMK have recently shown signs of distancing themselves from the alliance.
