Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam receives official party recognition

The Election Commission has officially recognized Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) as a registered political party in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. The party, led by C. Joseph Vijay, has been allotted the ‘whistle’ as its official election symbol.

Following the recognition, Vijay described the development as an “unprecedented miracle” in Tamil Nadu politics. He noted that the party had previously contested elections using this symbol and claimed to have secured approximately 35% of the vote, which he characterized as a significant achievement for a relatively new organization.

Vijay stated that his administration is committed to providing honest and corruption-free governance while upholding the principles of a secular social justice alliance. The formal recognition provides the party with a permanent political identity and a fixed symbol for future electoral contests.
