Tamin Lipsey returns to Iowa State basketball roster
Tamin Lipsey has been added to the Iowa State men’s basketball roster for the 2026-27 season. Lipsey was granted a fifth year of eligibility following a temporary restraining order issued by the Monroe County Circuit Court in Indiana as part of the ‘Daley vs. NCAA’ case.
Lipsey, a standout guard and former All-Big 12 selection, recently played two NBA Summer League games for the Indiana Pacers before suffering a meniscus injury. Although he went undrafted, he had signed an Exhibit-10 contract with the Pacers that was ultimately not executed.
His return faces potential challenges, as the NCAA is expected to appeal the decision regarding fifth-year players. Additionally, the Big 12 has implemented restrictions on athletes who declared for the NBA draft, which may impact his eligibility. Lipsey is currently preparing for the season opener on November 2 against Memphis.
