Tamiya announces Dune Beetle Cross R/C assembly kit

Tamiya has announced the Dune Beetle Cross (BB-02), a 1/9 scale remote-controlled assembly kit inspired by Volkswagen Beetles used in American off-road racing. This new rear-wheel drive buggy follows the previous BBX model and utilizes a new chassis design.

The kit features an officially licensed Beetle body with high levels of detail, including a roll cage, window nets, a fire extinguisher, and two driver figures. The chassis offers customizable front suspension, allowing users to choose between double trailing arms or double wishbone arms. To ensure durability, components such as the nylon stinger pipe are designed to flex and return to shape.

Technical specifications include a length of 454mm, a wheelbase of 283mm, and a height of 180mm. The model is designed for off-road performance with a sealed gearbox, built-in ball differential, and adaptive dampers to limit oil leakage.
