Tampa Bay Buccaneers upset Dallas Cowboys 24-16 for first win
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers secured their first victory of the season with a 24-16 upset over the Dallas Cowboys during Thursday Night Football. The win was led by undrafted rookie quarterback Jalon Daniels, who made his second career start in place of the injured Baker Mayfield. Daniels completed 19 of 25 passes for 189 yards without an interception.
Running back Bucky Irving provided a significant offensive boost, rushing for a career-high 165 yards on 21 carries, including a 72-yard run. The Buccaneers' defense also contributed with two interceptions to limit the Cowboys' offense.
The loss drops the Dallas Cowboys to a 2-3 record. During the game, Cowboys receiver CeeDee Lamb left with a quad injury and was seen hobbling off the field. Following the game, quarterback Dak Prescott was involved in a verbal confrontation with a stadium contractor who heckled the team in the tunnel; the worker was subsequently escorted from the venue.
