Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeat Atlanta Falcons 16-0 without a completed pass

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers secured a 16-0 shutout victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, achieving a rare NFL feat by winning a game without completing a single pass. Quarterback Baker Mayfield finished 0-for-3 in his second game following a thumb injury, as heavy rain and wind at Raymond James Stadium made passing difficult.

To compensate for the lack of an aerial attack, the Buccaneers relied on a dominant ground game, setting a franchise record with 324 rushing yards. Running backs Bucky Irving and Kenneth Gainwell led the effort, with Irving rushing for 170 yards and a touchdown, while Gainwell added 140 yards.

Atlanta's offense struggled significantly in the wet conditions. Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. completed 8 of 24 passes for 125 yards but threw four interceptions. The Buccaneers' defense contributed to the shutout with interceptions from Alex Anzalone, Jacob Parrish, and Zyon McCollum. The loss leaves both teams with 3-5 records in the NFC South.
