Tampa Bay Buccaneers sign cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed veteran cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting to their practice squad. Murphy-Bunting, a former second-round pick for the team in 2019, was released by the Arizona Cardinals last week.
A member of the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl LV championship secondary, Murphy-Bunting brings significant experience to the roster, including 65 NFL starts. The deal is structured as a practice squad contract with the potential for gameday elevations early in the season to provide depth for the team's younger defensive backs.
Murphy-Bunting previously played for Tampa Bay through 2022 before stints with the Tennessee Titans and the Arizona Cardinals. His return marks a reunion with head coach Todd Bowles and a system in which he has previously found success.
