Tampa Bay Buccaneers sign undrafted RB Barika Kpeenu

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed undrafted rookie running back Barika Kpeenu to bolster their roster during the preseason. Kpeenu joins the team following a standout collegiate career at North Dakota State.

During his 2025 season at North Dakota State, Kpeenu rushed for 1,005 yards and 20 touchdowns, earning First Team All-MVFC honors. His 20 touchdowns marked the highest single-season total for a North Dakota State running back since 2014. Over his final three college seasons, he recorded a total of 31 touchdowns.

Standing 5-foot-9 and weighing 213 pounds, Kpeenu was previously invited to the Minnesota Vikings rookie minicamp. Analysts have noted his physical running style and ability to gain yards through contact, despite lacking elite top-end speed.
