Citibank office complex shooting in Florida leaves two dead FAST-MOVING

A shooting at the Citibank Center in the Tampa area of Florida resulted in two deaths, including the suspect, on Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred at a sprawling business complex in Brandon that houses four three-story office buildings and employs thousands of people.

Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister stated that authorities believe the shooting was a “targeted incident” rather than a random act. More than 360 deputies and SWAT teams responded to the active threat, conducting floor-by-floor searches of the buildings. During the operation, officers found employees sheltering in locked rooms and closets before escorting them to safety.

Reports indicate the gunfire may have originated in the complex’s cafeteria. Some witnesses noted a grey vehicle had struck a building shortly before the shooting began. Citigroup confirmed it was aware of the incident and is cooperating with law enforcement investigations. Nearby Hillsborough College was placed on lockdown as a precaution.
