Tampico authorities protect children after mother's alleged murder

Authorities in Tampico, Tamaulipas, have placed a two-month-old baby and a four-year-old child under the protection of DIF Tampico following the alleged murder of their mother, 36-year-old Ivone “N”.

The incident occurred in the Tamaulipas neighborhood, where police detained the victim's ex-husband, 50-year-old Luis “N”, as the primary suspect. According to the detainee's statement, an argument ensued after consuming alcohol, leading to a physical struggle during which he allegedly strangled the woman.

The children were moved to a shelter to ensure their physical and emotional safety while the Fiscalía General de Justicia de Tamaulipas conducts an investigation and performs a necropsy to corroborate the circumstances of the death.
