Tamás Konkoly, former Győri Audi ETO KC coach, dies at 50
Tamás Konkoly, a former handball player and youth coach for Győri Audi ETO KC, has passed away at the age of 50 following a long and serious illness. He died on September 17.
Konkoly began his playing career in Győr before also playing for Balatonfüred. After retiring from active play, he returned to Győri Audi ETO in 2012, where he served as a coach and sports professional for nearly 15 years. He worked with various age groups, including the U18 and U14 teams, helping numerous young players develop and eventually reach the top division.
Despite being unable to continue his coaching duties due to his health, he remained a member of the club community as a sports professional. The club and the Győr municipal road management organization have declared him a ‘own deceased’ (saját halott), honoring his long-standing dedication to the sport and the club.
