Tamworth court adjourns drug supply case against Mervin Fermer

Mervin Fermer, 27, remains in custody following a brief mention in Tamworth Local Court regarding drug-related charges. Fermer has pleaded not guilty to supplying a prohibited drug in an indictable quantity, possessing a prohibited drug, and recklessly dealing with the proceeds of crime.

The charges stem from an incident in West Tamworth on July 2, where police allege Fermer was in possession of 6.48 grams of methylamphetamine and $255 believed to be proceeds of crime.

Defense solicitor Angus Neale requested an adjournment because the evidentiary brief is currently incomplete. Judge Julie Soars noted that a hearing is scheduled for early next year, which is expected to last approximately one hour.
