Tamworth court trial continues for violent Spring Ridge home invasion
Sandra Stewart resumed giving evidence at the Tamworth District Court during the trial of Jamie Allan Clements-Earl, 34. Clements-Earl is accused of involvement in a violent group break-in, stabbing, and the torching of Ms. Stewart’s home in Spring Ridge on March 5, 2024.
During the third day of the trial, defense barrister Hollie Blake questioned Ms. Stewart regarding discrepancies between her testimony and previous police statements. The questioning covered details such as the number of men present at the scene, their vehicles, and their method of departure. Ms. Stewart also faced questioning regarding her reported drug use. In response to the line of questioning, Ms. Stewart asked the jury, “Why does it feel like I’m on trial here?”
Clements-Earl has pleaded not guilty to several charges, including aggravated break-and-enter to commit a serious indictable offence, reckless wounding in company, destruction of property by fire, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company.
