Tamworth house fire destroys unoccupied property

A house in South Tamworth was partially destroyed by a fire in the early hours of Thursday morning. Emergency services responded to a property on Petra Avenue around 1:40 am following reports of a blaze.

Fire and Rescue NSW deployed four fire trucks and approximately 14 firefighters to the scene. Firefighters reported that the single-level house was “totally involved in fire,” but they successfully contained the flames to prevent them from spreading to neighboring properties.

The house is believed to have been unoccupied for some time, and authorities confirmed there were no injuries. Police have commenced inquiries to determine the cause of the fire.
