Tamworth Regional Council seeks lease proposals for 18ha of land
Tamworth Regional Council has issued a call for expressions of interest regarding the lease or licensing of approximately 18 hectares of land at the Locks Lane Reserve in South Tamworth. The council identified the area as “underutilised” because it is currently surplus to existing sporting field requirements.
The land is intended for future development as an extension of riverside sporting fields once the city’s population exceeds 80,000 people. However, the council is seeking proposals for its current use. The area is zoned as RU4 primary production small lots, which permits various activities including agricultural operations, aquaculture, plant nurseries, roadside stalls, and environmental protection works.
