Tamworth welcomes four local graduates to police force

Four probationary constables, Harrison Tufrey, Skye Purcell, Laura Goodwin, and Aiden Cromie, have returned to their hometown of Tamworth to begin their policing careers. The recruits recently graduated from the Goulburn Police Academy as part of its largest graduating class in 14 years.

District Commander Superintendent David Cooper noted that the officers' local knowledge and existing community connections will be invaluable. While the officers are mandated to remain in Tamworth for the next three years, authorities expressed hope that they will continue their professional development in the region long-term.

The new officers will undergo an initial six-week period working alongside experienced training officers. In addition to the Tamworth recruits, probationary constables Nick Burness and Blake Johnson have been assigned to Gunnedah and Narrabri, respectively.
