Tan Son commune implements multi-spur chicken breeding project

In Tan Son commune, Phu Tho province, a local livestock project is utilizing the multi-spur chicken breed to create sustainable livelihoods for residents, particularly the Muong ethnic minority. The initiative aims to preserve this specialty breed, which is linked to local legends, while simultaneously helping families increase their income and reduce poverty.

Participants in the project receive support in the form of breeding stock, animal feed, and technical guidance from agricultural experts. Local residents, such as Ha Thi Hoa and Ha Thi The, have reported that the technical training has helped stabilize flock growth and improve hatching success rates. Given that the market price for these chickens is higher than standard varieties, the project offers significant economic potential for local households.
