Tan Son Hoa Ward launches drug prevention campaign at fruit festival
Tan Son Hoa Ward in Ho Chi Minh City has launched a dual-purpose initiative combining the ‘Huong sac trai cay’ (Fruit Fragrance) festival with a campaign to build a ‘drug-free ward’. Held at Menas Mall Saigon Airport near Tan Son Nhat International Airport, the festival features approximately 32 stalls showcasing regional specialties, organic products, and GlobalGAP certified fruits.
Alongside the commercial event, local authorities and the Tan Son Hoa Ward Police have established a dedicated booth to educate the public, particularly students and teenagers, on identifying and preventing drug use and social evils. The initiative includes practical guidance on using the SOS application to access support and information.
Local officials, including Party Secretary Truong Le My Ngoc, emphasized the importance of proactive prevention at the community and family levels to combat increasingly sophisticated drug concealment methods. The program also includes a formal commitment from local businesses, such as Menas Co., Ltd and Mena Gourmet, to support the creation of a safe and healthy living and business environment.
